| New Mexico Gov. Richardson drops out of '08 race
The time has come to end my quest and come home to tackle the challenges before us in New Mexico," Richardson told cheering supporters in his state capital of Santa Fe. "Our legislature starts next week, and I intend to put my full efforts behind our No. 1 priority -- extending health insurance to every New Mexican by the end of my term." When making his announcement, Richardson declined to endorse any candidate but called the Democratic field "the most promising field in my lifetime." He predicted the party's eventual nominee would win the White House. While praising each of the remaining contenders, he also urged them to swear off personal attacks against one another. Watch Richardson bow out of the race » "To do otherwise could result in another four to eight years of more of the same, and that would be the biggest tragedy of all," Richardson said.
Web Playgrounds of the Very Young
Forget Second Life. The real virtual world gold rush centers on the grammar-school set. Trying to duplicate the success of blockbuster Web sites like Club Penguin and Webkinz, children's entertainment companies are greatly accelerating efforts to build virtual worlds for children. Media conglomerates in particular think these sites — part online role-playing game and part social scene — can deliver quick growth, help keep movie franchises alive and instill brand loyalty in a generation of new customers. .

Brad (Carlisle, PA): Buzz, are the agents telling these guys not to say anything about where they want to play? We'll stop asking if so. Do they really think it would hurt their draft status? Buzzmaster: Not at all. Everything the players say comes straight from their mouths, and I do not think they are really ducking the question, more than just being honest. I mean if someone told you had a chance to play in the NFL, wouldn't that make you happy? Buzzmaster: Heath Benedict OT from Newbury College is here. He's a big dude. LJ-NJ: anyone on the field better than you thought? Heath Benedict : Everyone is good because it is the Senior Bowl. I did not know what to expect as a D2 guy. scott (chicago): Heath how do you think not going to the senior bowl could possably hurt your draft status Heath Benedict : Everyone always questioned my level of competition.
EDITOR'S CHOICE
After ignoring Kingston in 2006 and then branding the borough a flaccid penis last year, Time Out magazine has agreed to include the borough in its new guide. There was outrage when the Royal borough was snubbed in the 2006 edition of the guide, and the situation only got worse when Time Out ran an insubstantial 10-point guide to the area in June of last year. The piece offered an unsavoury explanation as to why Kingston had been left out, stating: "Time Out did a Bobbitt and cut the flaccid penis that is the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames off the map of the capital." .

So you swear to chase the Scourge to the ends of the galaxy, communicating in the only language they understand – violent destruction.
Art Treasures in Manchester: 150 years on-Part two
George Scharf, who had just been appointed as director of the new national collection of portraits, agreed that the galleries of living artists gave the most unalloyed enjoyment (ibid, p. 26). Frederick Engels wrote to Karl Marx on May 20, 1857, stating his own forthright views regarding what he saw at the Art Treasures exhibition. Everyone here is now a friend of art and chatters about the paintings in the exhibition. The affair will be plus ou moins a failure, financially at any rate. There are, by the way, some very fine pictures on show, however, most of those by the good and the best painters are only second-rate pieces. Among the finest exhibits is a splendid portrait of Ariosto by Titian. The modern German and French school is very bad and practically unrepresented.

Pats take out Packers in SB XLII. Reasons are listed below in my previous blog. Now on to Roger Clemens. This guy is digging himself even deeper. First off, did you get a chance to listen to the recorded conversation between he and his ex-trainer, Brian McNamee? Apparently in Texas and New York you can record a conversation is one person consents, and Clemens consented. What a load a manure! Clemens tried to coax the guy into saying something like he lied, but he never did. Therefore, why even play the recording at the press conference?! I think he made himself look worse b/c he recorded the call, didn't get anything out of it, and still played it. Clemens asked him, why did you say I used steroids? You can take that 1 of 2 ways. "Why did you rat me out" or "why did you make up lies?" McNamee offered to go to the press conference, and Clemens never took him up on his offer.
